FOOD

Buying food at gas stations every time you stop gets expensive! We always stock up on the kids' favorites. Apple sauce, Cheez Its, jerky snacks, and dried fruit are always a hit and help balance the diet on the road.

DON'T FORGET

If you have been hesitating to buy your kid a device, now would be the time to cave in. That Kindle or IPad will buy you hours of quiet time in the car. Make sure you get heaphones so you don't have to listen to Peppa Pig for hours on end!We love this type of organizer for the kids' snacks and devices! The pockets come in handy so the kids can easily find what they need.

GAMES

As tired as you may be, playing some games can help pass the time. Our favorite is the alphabet game. You can pick any topic and go around naming things starting with A and go to Z. Some good topics are animals and foods to get started.

BE PREPARED FOR ANYTHING

On these long drives, there's a chance someone might get a little car sick. I highly recommend having some wipes handy and a trash bag, or at least a bucket or box with some plastic bags in it. You might not be in a great place to get to an exit or pull over.....be prepared!

PASS THE TIME

I bought a pack of fidgets and wrapped them individually. Whenever the kids were getting restless with the long drive, I let them open a fidget. I also bought a few things from the dollar store and travel bingo cards to throw in the mix. We still keep some of these in the car because they were such a hit!

I hope you found some of these tips and tricks useful. Safe travels!
